How can your company show its support for preserving NC’s environment? Join North Carolina companies to be part of the first Campout! Carolina Corporate Challenge by hosting or sponsoring a campout for employees on the weekend of October 12-14, 2012.

What is the Campout! Carolina Corporate Challenge?

Campout! Carolina is an annual statewide camping event to celebrate North Carolina's environment. Last year, thousands people participated by camping out in backyards and campgrounds across the state. This year, we are inviting NC companies to take part. The Campout! Carolina Corporate Challenge is an opportunity for your company to demonstrate support for a clean and healthy environment, create a fun, morale-building tradition for employees, and take part in a friendly competition with participating companies for the following awards:

Brownie Points Award: Employees and their families and friends who register to "Camp with (your company)" will go towards your tally. The company with the largest percent participation wins.
"Old-School" Campout Award: Pull out the s'mores, dust off the ghost stories, pack the star chart – companies vying for this award will feature classic/retro camping activities.
Green Camping Award: Show off your "reduce, reuse, recycle" practices, pull out the composting bin, and compete for the most environmentally friendly campout.

Free limited edition Work Hard. Camp Hard. bumper stickers – quantities based on company size.
Inclusion in media kit.
Use of the Campout! Carolina logo, posters and copy to promote the event.
Award winners receive plaque and are featured in news release and social media.
All Campout! Carolina participants are entered into a drawing for prizes donated by area outfitters.

How Does It Work?

Register to take part in the Campout! Carolina Corporate Challenge by contacting Kelly Suttles at 919-687-4840 or kelly@earthsharenc.org and let us know if your company will host a campout for employees to attend or sponsor a campout and encourage employees to participate on their own.
Registration fees are based on employee size
- $500 – Companies with 1000 or more employees (up to 150 free bumper stickers)
- $300 – Companies with 500 – 1000 employees (up to 100 free bumper stickers)
- $150 – Companies with up to 500 employees (up to 50 free bumper stickers)
Once registered, your company will be listed on the Be Counted page. Instruct employees to go to campoutcarolina.org and register by selecting "I’m Camping with (insert company name)."
The rest is up to you! Host the campout on company grounds, a local park, or organize an outing. Simply advertise the event or pull together an ad hoc committee to plan your campout and activities.
